Upscale Craftsman floating home listed for $3.6 million
With a wine cellar, a media room, and plenty of space to lounge

Sometimes when we talk about floating homes, we’re talking about small spaces—cute and functional, but with a limited footprint. Once you get to a certain price point, though, floating homes are as fancy and fully featured as any opulent home on land. Take this 2009 Craftsman floating at the Eastlake luxury dock Fairview Landing: It comes complete with a media room and a wine cellar on top of having space for three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
While it doesn’t make any compromises for its buoyancy, it’s also designed to take advantage of the water views. In the living room, a fireplace is bookended by floor-to-ceiling windows with benches. It opens right up to a dock, perfect for extending the living space outdoors or just dipping your toes in the water. Another deck extends from the dining area.
The main floor is also home to an office or guest bedroom with a Murphy bed for guests.
Upstairs, a second living area provides more space to lounge, and two other bedrooms—one with an en-suite bath—have glass doors that open straight to the heated second-floor deck.
Go up even further to a large roof deck tucked into the home’s gables with big views of the city and the water.
In the closest thing the home has to a basement, literally underwater, there’s a media room and a wine cellar.
