Hue is launching a line of outdoor lamps just in time for the thaw<\/em><\/h2>\n

Just in time for above-freezing temperatures, Philips Hue, everyone\u2019s favorite mood-maker, is releasing a line of\u00a0smart light bulbs<\/a>\u00a0for outdoors. The weatherproof range includes Calla, a soft, round path light that sits atop a bollard; Lily, a spotlight designed to nestle into the garden; and a set of three wall-mounted luminaires.<\/p>\n

Like Hue\u2019s indoor system, the outdoor lights connect to the Philips Hue bridge, which allows homeowners to control the bulbs through a smartphone app or with their choice of chatty assistant (it\u2019s compatible with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home).<\/p>\n

You can program the lights to turn on at a certain hour or use the app\u2019s location awareness feature so you\u2019re greeted with the glow of your choice\u2014Hue bulbs offer up more than 16 million color choices\u2014when you arrive home.<\/p>\n

The lights start at $50 for luminaires and go up to $280 for the Lily and its three accessories. The line isn\u2019t available until July, but it\u2019s never too early to start planning your first technicolor cookout.<\/p>\n
